ask.com LogoIf you are running one or multiple blogs either on Blogger BlogSpot or wordpress(selfhosted or wordpress.com) you must need to care about search engines to properly crawl and index your all posts and pages. Search engines automatically detects new web docs and crawl them. But if we help them to understand how our web site pages and blog posts are constructed, they will index them more quickly. I also showed how to notify new domains/sites to search engines like Google, yahoo and Bing before submitting sitemap.

What is Sitemap ?

If you don’t know what is sitemap, a site map (or sitemap) is a list of pages of a web site accessible to crawlers or users. It can be either a document in any form used as a planning tool for web design, or a web page that lists the pages on a web site, typically organized in hierarchical fashion. This helps visitors and search engine bots find pages on the site.

It’s very easy to submit sitemap to Google, yahoo and Bing where they provide direct tool to their webmaster tools. But currently ask.com don’t have any webmaster tool and also they don’t provide any direct way to submit sitemaps. But they made a way to submit your sitemap to them which technique is not publicly known.
